Officially half way through the year!

As per the title suggests, we have finally come to the seventh month of the year which means not long now till Christmas again. The second half of the year seems to slow down a bit until October, and then before you know it you're sitting in the fluorescent hell that is the office wondering why it's January 7th.
I am sitting at my desk trying to study, but today it's a bit hard. I spent all of yesterday working on swimwear patterns - that's right, fun stuff. And now I have to go back to a text book. Not fun at all.
The next couple of weeks however are going to be pretty full on. Right through until October, I will be working hard on putting together a swimwear range with my friend Kirsty, trying to work as much freelance as possible as to save enough money to put me in Hawaii for three weeks, doing the usual study (maybe I should take a term off?) and putting the feelers out for any new job opportunities that hopefully pay a little more than what I am getting now. Toastmasters starts this week (very excited about that) and I want to learn more about the ins and outs of photography, as to ensure that when I go away I come back with some relatively decent photos, especially of the volcanoes.
And before I know it, it will be January again.
I also wanted to do the City to Surf this year. It's been on my to-do list for years, but never got around to the training and well, it's only 4 weeks away and I will most likely NOT doing it. There is another half marathon at the beginning of September which is now, completely out of my league because of my lack of training. I hate cold weather - I swear that's the problem. Warmer days I'd be up at 4am and out running. Now it's a miracle if I can get to work on time. I'd love to live somewhere warmer - I loved the Gold Coast and wish I could go back up there but with the boy's work down here, it's pretty unlikely.
Ah, Sunday afternoon. Probably should be going for a run now with the dogs.
Below are the beginnings of my next two tattoos. The circular one will be for the inside of my arm, near the crook of my elbow and the second one is still being figured out - I'm not even sure if it's going to be black, probably coloured up in tones of browns, so it's not so stark. The first one is "Fortes fortuna adiuvat" which is fortune favours the bold in latin, and the second one is "Be the change you wish to see in the world" with orchids. Can you tell I had other, more important things to do late last night (hence the creation of two new tattoos??).
To be honest, I've been drawing on blank surfaces since I could hold a pencil so tattooing myself isn't that big of a stretch for me. I love them. I love them on people and on myself. Sometimes they can say so much about a person, especially really personal ones. I also think that tattoos are pretty subjective. I don't believe that the girl with the giant butterfly picked off the wall of the store is going to love it for the rest of her life but it's not my call, as is the same with names, pop culture icons, etc. I think it's polite to keep mouths closed when it comes to what you think about someone else's tattoo.
And to anyone who's just looked at those and thought, WTF is she doing (with the larger, orchid one), I could probably bet you $100 that you won't know when it get it done or where it is so don't panic. For all you know I could have changed my mind (not likely) so try and think of it that way.
