I could imagine all the work that was completed 40 years ago. Seriously. Without the internet, everyone would have had only few options when wanting to procrastinate. Talk to co-workers, make a lengthy coffee, go to the toilet, stare out the window. Working from home, they would have the opportunity to read books and write letters but overall, not much was going on.
I have no idea how people get things done today. But I am not going to go as far as saying I wish I was a designer 40 years ago. That job would have been tough. Really tough. We have it so easy today. This week has been an excellent week for work. Lots coming in, lots of good feedback and I am keeping busy. Except for the whole getting distracted thing.

My sister never takes cold and flu tablets. Not the over the counter, natural kind. The need-you-license-because-dicks-make-speed-from-these. She says they mess with her head and make her sleepy.
When we were away she started to get sick, and to get on top of it she bought some of the good drugs. The ones hubby and I always claim to love because they work so well. She just recounted the story to me of her experience. Most of the weekend was a blur, and we now have Cadbury Mini Flakes and beer batter chips in the house. She has no recollection of buying them. She claims her head was on a spring, and while it was not moving she felt like her head was on the end of a constantly bouncing spring. Boing, boing, boing.... She also discovered, while semi-high she could "see" without "looking". As in, "OMG, I can SEEEEEEE.... without even LOOOOKING!!". Pure amazement, like she'd found nirvana. Or she had XRAY vision. It was one of the funniest stories I have ever heard. I'm still cracking up. |
